Who are we?
HERMEQ Steel (formerly HTC) was formed by Stephen Melhuish in 1988 operating out of a site in Wednesbury, in the heart of the West Midlands.
Over the years the company grew significantly and after several site moves to larger premises, the company now works out of 4 sites across the UK totaling over 160,000 Sq Ft & has a team of over 150 people. We now process on-site over 200 Tonnes of from stock steel per day in order to deliver our customers steel in a wide variety of formats.
Nationwide service, exceptional quality, and dedicated support

We now process over 200 Tonnes of steel per day in order to deliver our customers steel in a wide variety of formats. Centrally located, HERMEQ Steel is supported by its own fleet of HERMEQ Haulage delivery vehicles, this allows us to provide a nationwide service, one dedicated to deliver quality products on time.
HERMEQ Steel is predominantly supplied by Tata Steel in South Wales & steel mills across Northern Europe. As a stock holder we speculatively buy & hold steel. We then process this steel in house to meet our customers requirements. Having internal control of our processing means that we can offer our clients shorter lead times & lower prices for the steel they need.

About Us
HERMEQ Steel began life in 1988 as a steel stockholding and shearing company based in the West Midlands. Over the following years we invested further in steel processing machinery such as Decoilers, Slitters, Plasmas, Rolling Mills & Tube Mills. We now offer our clients a range of services including steel trading, stockholding & processing in gauges ranging from 0.4mm – 25mm. Our client base is spread throughout the UK & Europe. We predominantly focus on supplying UK manufacturing companies
Alongside developing our processing capabilities, we have expanded our product range. Originally focused on light gauge galvanised blanks, HERMEQ Steel now offer our clients a range of Galvanised, Hot Rolled, Cold Reduced & Aluminised steel In formats ranging wide coil, slit coil, sheet, blanks & tube.
HERMEQ Steel continues to invest in new sites & machinery as we look to rapidly expand over the coming years in order to develop our position as one the leading steel suppliers in the UK & Europe.
Who are we?

In 1998 we began manufacturing temporary steel hoarding systems, which became an instant success.
In 2003 we purchased a purpose built 50,000 sq ft factory in Smethwick. With the Sales, Development and Production processes now under one roof and with space for further expansion, the company embarked on a comprehensive investment program.
Now in 2023/24 we’re opening our new Aston Place site which gives us access to over 60,000 sq ft of new, solar powered steel stock holding & manufacturing space!
